  • MESECVI Publishes Fourth Hemispheric Report
    MESECVI published its “IV Hemispheric Report on the Implementation of the Belém do Pará Convention - Latin America Chapter. Access to Justice, Truth, and Reparations: Structural Challenges and Institutional Progress,” prepared by the Committee of Experts based on the information reported by States Parties during the most recent Multilateral Evaluation Round of the Mechanism. The report focuses on women’s access to justice, truth, and reparation as a cornerstone in efforts to eradicate violence, the central theme of the evaluation round in which States Parties responded to 137 progress indicators to assess their actions in addressing violence against women and girls.
  • High-level Regional Consultation in Grenada calls for Joint Action toward a Model Law to Protect Women and Girls From Gender-based Digital Violence
    Grenada was the host country for a two-day high-level consultation on the Draft Inter-American Model Law to Prevent, Punish, and Eradicate Gender-based Digital Violence against Women held on July 1st and 2nd in St. George’s. Organized by MESECVI and the Ministry of Social and Community Development, Housing and Gender Affairs of Grenada, with the support of the European Union’s Inclusive Societies programme and the Italian Republic, the consultation issued a strong call for joint regional efforts to protect all women and girls in the hemisphere from digital violence.
